This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I became the advisor to The Young Astronaut's Club at my school and I am super excited to be part of this. I have had many students sign up and they are excited about this as well. My plan is to show the students the "October Sky" movie for the first few weeks of meetings and then have them plan their Mission to the Moon.

The kit and curriculum provides supplies and the curriculum which guides the students through the engineering process for their own planning of their Mission to the Moon.

The kit supplies me with videos of a team of engineers to help with their missions. The students will see real-world and career connections, science content and actual NASA missions. Lastly, the students will be provided with instruction for engineering design challenges.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
