Help me give my students the sweet and salty snacks, that teachers crave, to add to their creative baskets of surprise.

My Project

Our school specializes in providing a well-rounded education to students who face emotional and/or behavioral challenges. These very intelligent sixth through eighth grade students receive services in a self-contained program called CHOICES (Children Having Opportunities In Choosing Educational Success).

Think fun, silly, delicious, creative snack kits built by students!

Taking individual items and creating something new!

This project will help my students to build and create snack kits. These creative combinations will go great with their coffee cart. The students will push the cart to the teacher's room, offer recommendations, take orders, write up receipts and off they go to the next classroom. Students will use the supplies to build and create individual snack packs geared to themes, color, shapes, size and taste.

COVID - 19 put a fast halt to the social emotional learning component of this program. Students couldn't interact with others or attend field trips. Now that everyone is back on campus, we can continue to practice our social emotional learning. All money collected goes directly to the students to pay for their field trips. This is compliant with our district policy. Along with running this cart and building creativity, these students will have the opportunity to learn the social skills needed for future employment. They will practice meeting and greeting customers, being on time for work, working collaboratively with others, dressing appropriately, and understanding accountability. The best part, having fun!
