Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students attend an inner-city public school where approximately 90% live below the poverty line. We spend a lot of time doing hands-on learning.

All of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch and participate in the backpack program on the weekends.

This does not stop our students from coming to school and showing their love for learning. We love to explore everything around us, both inside and outside of the classroom. We love to show what we know and learn in a hands-on way.

My Project

This project will make a difference in our classroom because it will allow me to model proper writing techniques for the students on the chart paper with the correct lines on it. Students will then be able to go to their primary notebook and practice their writing on their own. They will also be able to illustrate their writing in the designated picture space.

As the students learn, they will be able to look back in their notebook and see all of the progress they have made with their writing.

They will be so proud of themselves.
