My Students
If I just told you that my students are excited about school, that would be an understatement! My students are positively enthusiastic about learning! I teach a kindergarten Inclusion class in an Urban School district. For many of my students, this is their first year of school! They are thrilled to begin this new journey and they are motivated learners.
They may be small, my students have huge aspirations!
There are 19 students in my class. Half of my students are on Individual Education Plans. I strive to have all of the classroom materials that I need to ensure that I meet every child's needs. Many of my students come from low income homes and their families are not able to buy supplies for the school. My students require many visuals supports in the classroom. They love to learn through projects and crafts.
My Project
Giving my students access to art supplies will increase their love for learning even more. Having plenty of construction paper, paints, and crayons will give the children even more opportunities to learn and explore each topic. Since most kindergartners are just starting to learn how to write, they enjoy expressing themselves through colorful drawings.
Visuals are key in our classroom!
My students require a variety of signs, behavior charts, anchor charts, picture cues, ect. Having laminating pouches, cardstock, and velcro would allow me to create more durable visuals.Students at this young age are just beginning to learn how to use school materials appropriately, so durability is a must.
