My students need Yoga for Kids, to use for physical education.
Who thought the day would come when moms and dads would have to schedule play dates for their children? Americans are living in the busiest, most stressful time in history; that means kids are too! By providing a yoga for kids program, my young students will start learn how manage that stress.
Yoga's effect on children is a positive one and is just what our children need.
My students all come from a very low sociol economic community. Our school is at 100% free and reduced lunch. For our students, education is their ticket to living and having a better life. By learning to calm themselves and to become more focused throughout the day, they will have a the opportunity to excel in their academics.
I am requesting a yoga program for kindergarten students. My students will learn the different yoga moves and how to control or concentrate on their breathing. In addition to health benefits of Yoga, it is a great way to teach them how to be calm, while gaining an awareness of their bodies, self-control and discipline. Yoga naturally teaches calming, relaxing breathing techniques, and the focused time in specific postures helps to still children. Children with hyperactive tendencies need a higher amount of movement and yoga can help their impulses and move them in a more positive direction.
Having a yoga for kids program at my school, will definitely have a positive affect on our entire school population.
Children need a quiet place, just like adults, and yoga can help them relax enough in freedom to just be a kid. Yoga has also been known to help children, with behavioral issues, relate in a relationally healthy way with other children.
