My Students

You just can’t match the enthusiasm and growth of an engaged first grade student. Everything is an adventure for them! My students often tell me, “I just love math (or reading, or science, or art, or homework)!

My students frequently embrace a challenge and want to do things “super learner style”.

They have grown and changed so much already this year, both academically and socially! Watching this progress happen is my favorite part of teaching.

It is so great to be together, learning to be kind to everyone as we celebrate each other’s strengths and practice overlooking weaknesses in others and ourselves. My students are working hard toward becoming accomplished readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and artists. First grade is a work in progress, constantly evolving, and we love it that way!

My Project

We will be using these robots in first grade to practice the coding skills we are learning in our computer lab. This hands-on approach will allow my students to be involved directly, and see first hand the benefits of learning to code. It will also allow them to work in small groups to solve coding problems together.

My students love all things technology, and are so excited when we get new materials to discover the world of computers and robotics.

This project will really get my students engaged with real world coding.
