My Project

My students love music and participate in class with great enthusiasm. Almost every day when they arrive at my door, I get the question, “Are we playing instruments today?” We use mallet instruments (xylophones and metallophones) to learn melody and harmony and steady beat. With more instruments, every student can also learn to compose music and improvise. Most importantly, I want to give my students the experience of working together in a musical ensemble and hear the amazing music that they are capable of creating and playing.

Your generous donation would have a tremendous impact on my students' musical experience and their ability to compose, improvise, and playfully create music together.

A mallet ensemble is best with instruments for every student, with a balance between wooden and metal instruments. Right now, I am in need of more wooden instruments in order to provide everyone in class the opportunity to actively play music together and to create a balanced sound. By adding more instruments, all students will enjoy a well rounded and beautiful musical experience!
