Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my 19th year of teaching. Teaching is my passion. I can't see myself doing anything else. The students I am teaching are predominantly Hispanic. They are a mixture of all learning levels. We are 100% free and reduced lunch. Our neighborhood is considered to be low income. Many of our students come from a one income family. Most of the parents work in the cleaning business or construction.

I love teaching and what it represents for my students' future.

My students love to learn and the parents want them to succeed in school and go on to college and make a better life for themselves. Knowing that I can help them to earn a brighter and better future make me feel so blessed. Mt students are the future and I want them to be successful in all they do! Your donation will help the become the future of our country!

My Project

With the virus ramping up again, the students need to have a clean and safe environment to learn in. We clean our desks several times a day. I have a restroom in my classroom so I provide my students with anti-bacterial soap (that smells good).

Writing is so important to their learning!

We use white boards for all subjects so it is important that have good quality markers that do not dry out too quick. We have boards but they have had a lot of wear and tear on them and it makes it hard to read their work. I will be sending those home with the students to use if we have to go virtual .Using white boards at home makes it easier for me to see their work on the computer screen. The students will use the new ones when they return!
