Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A;l of my students have the ability to learn, regardless of their daily struggles in life. Many of my students come from high poverty neighborhoods, where they have minimal educational resources (which allow for tactile and auditory learning) at their fingertips. Despite this lack of resources, my students are eager to learn. They are a bright bunch, who are ready to kick start their kindergarten year with some fun and engaging science resources.
This year, I want my students to love exploring the world through science experimentation, and be able to record their findings through writing.
My Project
These science stem resources will give my students the opportunity to use their imaginations to build creations, and explore the world around them. In addition to my students' science explorations this year, I want them to keep track of their scientific findings by using the interactive science journal reproducibles. These reproducibles will be a good writing supplement for my students, as they get more familiar with writing conventions this year.
My students will also use the donated science kits as manipulatives to construct resolutions to assist characters in literature with their problems.
Overall, these science resources with help stimulate my students critical thinking skills.
