Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Picture a group of second graders. One of them is coming to my desk to ask me a question, two of them have fallen out of their chairs somehow, and a fourth is kicking her legs under her desk. These kids need movement while sitting in a whole group teacher-led lesson, even after they came into the classroom from recess.
My classroom has about 24 students from socio-economically disadvantaged families.
We are in a rural district, and our climate has four seasons. Our school has about 500 students from kindergarten to 6th grade. My students are excited and happy to be at school. They are eager learners who enjoy lessons that are turned into games and math lessons that incorporate manipulatives. My students come from many different places including other states and countries. Most of my students can speak more than one language. They love to be engaged and push themselves to be lifelong learners and the best that they can be. I want my students to continue to be excited about learning long into the future of their education.
My Project
Students will be able to use Write and Wipe Boards to practice writing their letters, words, sentences which will increase student practice and engagement for learning! Paper copies can be boring, time consuming, and not as quick and easy to use. They don’t mind fixing mistakes and love being able to use a whiteboard marker.
The Write and Wipe boards also help make the most of our time at school because they are so efficient and available to use for any subject anytime!
With the Magnetic Write and Wipe Board, it will be quick and easy to create engaging daily messages for my kiddos. It will also be helpful to use for math lessons at the carpet area.
