This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach the second-grade young scholars. Our classroom consists of everything from gifted learners to struggling learners. All students are inquisitive and LOVE to learn!

All students at our school receive free and reduced-price lunches due to the fact that we are a high needs, Title 1 school.

Many students are English language learners. They are bravely working through their struggles and love being at school each day.

My Project

Students will meet writing standards W.2.5, W.2.6, and W.2.7 by writing and illustrating their own books. They will use classroom technology to write, edit, and revise their own work. They will use classroom art supplies to illustrate and create a unique paper copy of their books. Students will be able to create both fiction and nonfiction books that they can proudly display and share with their school community, which will also help them show mastery of listening and speaking standards SL2.1 and SL2.2. This will build confidence and create strong writers.
