My Project

Who doesn't love summer time? It's a time to relax and explore new things. Unfortunately, the summer is also a time when some learning is lost with some of our students. The best way to help students during this time, is to provide them with opportunities to practice some of the skills they've previously learned, without disrupting their summer experiences.

My students would benefit from having a summer writing journal to write about different adventures that they are going to have over the summer.

Along with this journal, students would need fun writing supplies to encourage them to get started.

These journals would be a great way to get students to practice their writing as well as their phonics and phonemic awareness. The journals do not need to be returned, but could be kept as a great keepsake they could share with their family.

Since these journal will not come with predesigned topics, students will be able to write freely, which in turn will help them be more relaxed and excited to write about their next adventure.
