My Project

With all the technology in the world, writing with a pen or pencil on actual paper is becoming a lost skill. I hope to help change that starting with my Pre-K students.

All children need to be able to write their thoughts and even their own names without the use of a laptop or iPad.

I had a Kindergarten student last year who was an excellent reader. She could read on the 2nd grade level. However, she could not even write her own name. Her iPad at home definitely helped her to learn to read but did not teach her the fine motor skills that it takes to write any words.

I am in need of some basic supplies such as magnetic write boards and markers to make sure that this doesn't happen to my Pre-K students next year. With a strong foundation of fine motor skills and writing practice my students will be able to write well and not have to depend on an iPad or laptop to tell a story.
