My Students

My first graders are an amazing group of individuals with an enthusiastic desire to learn and grow. Many face challenges daily but overcome them with a strength unmatched by most.

Our school has provided tools and opportunities that promote academic success, motivation, problem-solving, independence, personal growth mindset, as well as fostering twenty-first century skills that will prepare our students for the future.

My students are from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying academic abilities. Our technology-rich environment allows for students to creatively show their learning outcomes using a variety of programs and applications. The area around our school is growing daily, with construction occurring in every direction you look. We have a large student population, which enhances our diverse classrooms.

My Project

Our students completed their kindergarten year from home with limited notice and resources. Their dedication and resilience during this time showed their desire for learning and educational success. Google Classroom, in conjunction with our online learning tools, will continue to be utilized to provide quality learning opportunities for our students. However, my learners would benefit greatly from me having a way to easily model strategies and examples that will be reinforced through online assignments.

This project will provide an Apple Stylus Pen and an interactive keyboard to compliment our iPad Pro, which will allow me to model and reinforce essential lessons in real-time.

The future of our school year is still uncertain. The ability to provide appropriate modeling is crucial to many facets of first grade learning. In order to enhance my at-home classroom environment, it is very important that I have the resources to help provide models of concepts and skills students need to succeed in the upcoming school year.
