This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are curious, enthusiastic, funny, unique, and creative thinkers. They come to school every day excited to learn. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions.
They are inquisitive about the world around them, so I strive to broaden their horizons and challenge their minds.
We actively work on STEAM assignments incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies and group activities.
My Project
As an educator, I fully understand the impact of having the right materials to accompany a lesson. It enhances the lesson. My students learn so much more when they are allowed to be creative. I have seen the very successful results. The students are fully engaged and participation is wonderful.
I have seen student skills advance significantly when they are allowed to design, discuss, and communicate with each other.
Writing in math will give me insight of my student’s thoughts. I will understand how well they understand a topic. The pencils, pens, and journals will be used to answer exit ticket questions, steps to a math problem or answer the math question of the day.
Therefore I am asking for your support by helping me to provide materials so my students can communicate and critically think. With the acquisition of these materials, I shall be empowered to design personalized lessons for my students.
