This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go and exactly how everything will be used. We just need your help in getting everything through our classroom door!
Writing is a daily activity in our TK, kindergarten, and first grade combination classroom.
The writing materials and supplies included in this project will be added to our classroom "writing center". The sentence writing strips will be used during both shared and interactive writing instruction. The copy paper, construction paper, glue sticks, markers, highlighters, crayons, and liquid watercolors will be used from my students to complete writing various activities. The drying rack will be used by my students to store their writing assignments (as well as art/craft projects).
The donations to this project will help to develop my students' fine motor skills as well as improve my students' competency in the area of writing.
By implementing daily writing instruction, my students will develop in their finger/hand strength and control of various writing utensils. They will become more comfortable holding writing utensils in their hands in order to move through the stages of writing development - beginning with drawing various lines and shapes and then writing letters, numbers, words, names, sentences. As a teacher, I have done extensive research on writing development with TK, kindergarten, first grade students; however, I need your support in making my optimal classroom writing instruction a reality.
