Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a high poverty area. Over 90% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Thankfully, we are able to take part in a grant that provides free lunch and breakfast to all our students. I teach special education to a range of students from kindergarten to fifth grade with a wide range of strengths and abilities.
My students need writing materials in order to help them develop emerging writing skills.
The materials will help them to write legabily and correctly. The pencils and pencil grippers will also help my students improve their fine motor skills.
My Project
My kindergarten through second grade students are starting to build their foundation in writing. My students are struggling with basics, such as holding a pencil properly and letter formation. The thicker primary Ticonderoga pencils and pencil grips will help my students hold their pencils properly.
The Channie paper will help guide my students when writing.
The paper has yellow guide lines and boxes to help with proper letter formation and spacing. My students need literacy journals that allow them to illustrate their writing.
My students need help building their foundation in writing in order to ensure their later sucess as writers.
