My Students

I love teaching kindergarten. We are a Title I school with low-income families, who are trying their best to keep a roof over their family's heads and food on the table. With the increase in housing/rent, this is becoming more difficult, and many parents are working 2-3 jobs to maintain these basic needs. My families appreciate all the help they get towards educating their children They are grateful for the safe, happy place school provides.

I love my kids because, like their parents, they are grateful for the education they receive.

They work hard in class and try their very best. We call it: "It looks like teacher work!" And then we joke that maybe the teacher did their work for them.

My students love each other and build each other up, they really try to be best friends for one another. They are happy to be in a safe place of learning.

My Project

Writing can be intimidating no matter the age, but writing on a whiteboard makes writing more fun and less stressful. When one makes a mistake on a whiteboard, they just need to wipe it away.

My students will have more opportunities to write stress-free with these whiteboard supplies.

Also, I have been using my own money to buy copy paper to make little reading books for my students to take home to practice reading. The paper I asked for will help me make a lot more books, which will give more reading opportunities to my students.
