Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nearly all of the students in my classroom are from low-income households and thus face many challenges. I currently teach a diverse group of individuals with so much potential. Most of my students have learning challenges because they are English language learners and have learning difficulties such as dyslexia, LD, ADHD, ADD, ED, Autism, Deaf, or Speech impediments.

Although my students face many challenges, they are creative, thoughtful, full of questions, and most importantly, eager to learn.

They are also loving, caring, and, best of all, respectful. My students love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box.

Each day I am welcomed with bright smiles and happy attitudes. They come prepared to learn new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and academically. They are, without a doubt, my inspiration. They have made me want to become a better teacher.

My Project

Writing is something students not only struggle in, but the majority of them despise doing. I want to be able to make writing enjoyable for my students. I know this takes time. This is why I am requesting 180 days of practice workbooks, pencil holders, and individual pencil bags. My hopes are that if I make it fun for them they will learn to enjoy it. As third graders, they will need to know how to write and how to proofread for the STAAR test (our state-mandated test). With your help, they will be successful!
