My Project

Writing should be more than just putting words on paper; it should be a chance for students to create, imagine, laugh, and express themselves!

In our third-grade classroom, we have Friday Fun Writes, a special time when students get to step outside of traditional writing assignments and let their creativity take the lead.

The Make-a-Face sticker creations in this project will give students a fun and unique starting point for their writing. Students can design silly, imaginative characters using the stickers and then bring those creations to life through stories and creative writing.

These activities help make writing exciting, especially for students who may not always feel confident when faced with a blank page. A funny face, a silly character, or an unusual creation can spark an idea and suddenly turn, “I don’t know what to write!” into a story they cannot wait to tell.

But the fun doesn’t end when the writing is finished!

The page protectors included in this project will help us preserve students’ favorite Friday Fun Writes and other special work throughout the year. Each student will have a binder that becomes a collection of not only their writing, but also special memories from their third-grade year.

By the end of the year, students will be able to look back through their binders and see how much they have grown as writers, remember the fun experiences we shared, and take home a keepsake filled with pieces of their third-grade story.
