My students need a collection of 50+ easy chapter books by some favorite authors, including Cynthia Rylant, Tedd Arnold and Mo Willems.

I teach first grade, in a diverse school, where many children live below the poverty line. Many of my students have had limited access to early learning opportunities.

Reading chapter books is a rite of passage for a new reader! My students look forward to the day when they will be ready to read chapter books from the time they start first grade! Only, we don't have any in our classroom!

We need a library of easy chapter books by some of our favorite authors, so that my students can experience the joy of reading chapter books, maybe even sooner than they think! These books will include the "Henry and Mudge" series, by Cynthia Rylant, the "Fly Guy" series, by Tedd Arnold, and a few selections by Mo Willems!

You can bring the true joy of reading to each of my students, by providing them with a library of chapter books they can read. Thanks for reading my proposal!
