Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is an assortment of much-needed items covering a few topics. Our school district has just adopted the Core Phonics 95 program which requires a lot of space, in an accessible and organized space for the students. The bins, sheet protectors, and laminating sheets will all be used for this program.
I have long wanted to provide our low-income families with multiplication flash cards that each student/family can use to practice with at home.
This bulk set will allow me to gift the cards to kids and families during parent-teacher conferences. Many of our parents do not speak English but want to help their kids. Math is universal! Third graders need to master multiplication, and this will give them an opportunity to practice at home, with their parents, even if there is a language difference.
The rulers are also much needed for our measurement unit in math. The tape refills help me as the teacher to create "homemade" study guides, and practice sheets. I have already purchased individual whiteboards for my students, but it would be so helpful for them to have their own erasers, rather than using tissues to erase. The folders allow for needed organization of subject materials in their desks, and to transport study materials to and from home.
