Ms. Robertson from Memphis TN is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need tablets to help them with research projects and to assist in creating graphic arts projects.

My scholars come from a community where the expectations for them have been low. We have set high standards for them and constantly encourage them to do more and be more. The great thing is; they always come through for us.
Our scholars are creative, willing to learn and put forth their best effort but their circumstances often hold them back.
They are loving and giving scholars who need love back in the form of donations. We are a tier one school where the majority of scholars live in low-income houses and all scholars receive free lunch.
I want to provide them opportunities that they aren't able to have because of the area they are raised in. I want to cultivate their creative side and encourage them to express themselves through art.
My scholars are no different than anyone else; they want hands-on projects. What better way to teach arts than to introduce graphic arts through the use of these tablets? I will install art based apps for them to explore like drawing, painting, graphic design, videography, and photography; just to name a few.
We will also be using them to explore new artists and artworks.
They will be able to research and develop creative ideas based on topics. They will also be able to find references to draw when they are struggling to remember what something might look like.
Many of my students have limited experiences outside of their own community. The access to these tablets will put the world at their fingertips. They will be able to create more interesting and diverse projects than they could have ever imagined for themselves.
