The way the art room is structured now my scholars have little choice. They must follow the steps and use the materials given. I want to move away from that and give them a more creative way to explore art. Often they get bored or do not love the project. I will use these materials to create a choice based art room. They will be able to select what materials they want to use and what the content of the project will be. There will be painting, drawing, printmaking, architecture, sculpture stations just to name a few. Each storage unit in the supplies requested will host the materials, references, and art of the scholars. All of the materials I have chosen will be the materials use at each station. I have selected foam, ink and rubber cement for the printmaking station; air dry clay for the sculpture station; drawing books and stencils for the drawing station; origami books and paper for the origami station; tape, glue sticks and ink pads for the collage station This will help my scholars to think through the creativity process of creating an idea, gathering materials, executing, and reflecting upon their work. I am very excited about this switch and can't wait to share the changes with the students.
