Working Together to Explore Through STEM and Social Discussions!
Help me give my students an opportunity to work with one another and deal with their many emotions through exploration and discussions by providing items such as a table and STEM-related toys.
My students are incredibly kind. They work extremely hard and love challenging themselves to go beyond. Despite the challenges of this year and years prior, they continue to be leaders and accept challenges. They love to collaborate and help each other achieve.
Our students are incredible!
They come from a Title I school and often need additional support to be successful. They all have different backgrounds which mean the pandemic has hit them in a variety of ways. We have many feelings and emotions this year due to some lost learning. My goal is to continue to help them learn how to deal with challenges and self-regulate as well as learn to rely on and help one another.
My Project
Students are dealing with many different social and emotional impacts due to COVID-19. They are struggling to stay focused and work together to achieve their goals. They need assistance in self-regulating that can be accomplished through the books I have carefully chosen to correlate with emotions and Leader In Me which we focus heavily on in our classroom.
I have also considered that students need more time to explore and work together to enhance their academic learning at school.
This is why I selected many different STEM activities to allow my students to explore, study, and play together to build a classroom conducive to learning. I have also requested a whiteboard table to target my students in small groups who are struggling in reading or math.
I feel these items will all create an environment that enhances learning and allows students to express themselves while feeling valued by me and each other.
