Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to a vibrant close-knit community of educators, parents, and administrators working to provide our students with the best education they deserve. Although many of these students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, many receiving free or reduced-price lunch, they are excited to learn and go to college down the road.
Despite the many challenges our students may face, my colleagues and I work very hard to educate our students with the best educational practices out there.
It is because of this unwavering dedication that ours is a Level 1 school! Students are achieving high scores in math and ELA MCAS, or the state tests students are required to take in Massachusetts.
I am incredibly proud of my students and cannot wait to explore learning within the kindergarten, first, second, third, and fourth grade classrooms.
My Project
At this time we do not have enough headphones for our students to use to go on the online reading program we have for them. Due to the lack of materials only 2 students can go on at a time, but that could change with your donation! Along with lack of headphones there are very little chairs in our room and the stools will allow not only for students to sit but also to maneuver more easily around the room since the stools are nice and light. The iPad mini will be used to monitor students while they are on the program and I will be able to give them feedback in real time something I am unable to do since all my students are on computers. I want them to have a full experience of the program rather than me having one computer used to monitor their progress.
