My Students

I’ve taught in extremely disadvantaged neighborhoods, and extremely affluent neighborhoods, but never have I had such a diverse group of children in both background and needs. We spent the majority of our professional development this year learning about social emotional learning, and trying to identify what these kids carry in their “backpacks” everyday. My kids show up everyday ready to learn despite anything that may be happening at home, and all I want to do is make it engaging for them.

My Project

With the high expectations of technology use in our lessons it is difficult to create worthwhile lessons with only enough Chromebooks for half my students. It would be great to get the headphone splitters so they can share computers to work on projects! The clipboards are needed to be able move around the room during Writing Stations. I would love for them to be able to work wherever they feel comfortable, which is not always near a hard surface! The students also need the mailbox system to keep themselves organized with everything that needs to go back and forth between home and school!
