Working in a World of Color

My Students

I will start the year with bright and eager-to-learn kindergartners! For many of my students, it will be their first school experience. My students come from varied backgrounds, and within my class, I have a wide wage of interests and ability levels.

I teach at a high poverty school in Wisconsin where our free and reduced-price rate is over 95 percent.

It's great to start our day with breakfast because it is a great opportunity to talk with each of my students before the structure of our day begins.

My community also runs an evening and Saturday morning project at our school where families can come to school for a meal and evening programs.

My Project

Not all of my students come to school with school supplies, so at this time of the year, many of my students are lacking basic supplies. Multiple times each day, we use crayons and wipe-off markers.

We use wipe-off markers for practicing our letters, writing numbers, and writing words around the room.

As diligent as we are to make sure the markers always have a cap on so they don't dry out, they don't last a long time.

My students thrive on visuals to enhance their learning, and with printer ink and laminating sheets, you can help me provide visuals for my students to use throughout the day.
