My Students

I have the best students! We come from very diverse backgrounds, and yet we quickly form a bond that allows us to bring out the best in each other. We believe in each other and know that together we shine!

We are risk takers, problem solvers, and always up to a challenge!

But we are also 7, and have a ton of energy! We use blended learning, station rotations, and brain brakes to get the most of our time together.

My Project

Your typical second grade classroom today looks very different from the one many of us grew up with. Each day, my students are challenged to put aside what makes them spunky seven year olds and transform into scholars ready to attack the rigorous curriculum presented to them daily. While I couldn't be more proud of the success my students achieve, it doesn't come without a price - ants in their pants!

How do you expect children to be successful with ants in their pants?

The therabands will be placed on each child's desk and the wiggle seats shared to help us wiggle while we work. Research shows movement reduces anxieties and leads to productivity. Who wouldn't want that for all students?
