Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all the first generation of their families in this country. While the children may be American citizens while their parents may not be.

The families are very hardworking, sometimes working around the clock just spending time with their children only when they take them to work.

These children have high respect for the teacher, as well as for the school. They come in everyday excited to learn and eager to please. So I am asking to level the playing field just a bit and grant us these phonics books.

My Project

My students are thrilled to be in school and work very hard to move ahead. We are a Title One school, all the students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. The workbooks I am requesting, will help my students' reach mastery of the requirements set forth by the Common Core.

My class is composed of first generation Latino children who are eager and excited to learn.

Education is valued in their culture and the teacher is highly respected. I know that these Wordly Wise workbooks will continue to help develop their vocabulary skills enough to experience success on high stakes testing.
