Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic and amazing kids from the southside of Chicago. Most of the kids I teach are faced with challenges in their lives, both at home and at school. As their music teacher, I hope to help my students by encouraging them to express themselves in positive ways.
My students love music class because they get a chance to share a creative experience with their peers.
Our school is run on a bare bones budget, and funding for the arts is just not there. Your donation would help to provide a quality musical experience for deserving students.
My Project
Online learning is in full effect, and I need Microsoft Office in order to create documents and presentations to send to my students.
Now that all learning is digital, our music program could use a software update.
Effective word processing software is essential, and I am having trouble creating the quality materials my students deserve with the free cloud-based software I have access to. Having Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point would help me to create engaging lesson presentations that the students could view from home. Students are sending me scholarship application essays right now, and without the right software I have been unable to make the necessary edits to help them.
Upon returning to the classroom, having access to these programs will help me to create a well-organized classroom environment for this generation! Thank you for your help!
