Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By donating to our project, you will be helping students develop their phonics skills and apply their decoding skills to become better readers. Students will also have the opportunity to practice counting money and building in science.
In my classroom students are working hard to be good readers.
I would love to have reading activities that focus on the foundation skills students need to have to decode words. Students need to have a solid foundation in phonemic awareness before they can read for meaning. The resources I am currently using in my classroom are outdated or homemade. My students would enjoy using new material. The Touch & Read activities would engage my students learning. In my class we are also working on counting money. The large magnetic money will be useful in daily practice. I will use the easel to display the money on. The easel will also display our class charts and class posters. The magna tiles will engage the students to build in science.
