Help me give my students meaningful, intentional, and effective activities to do during workshops. All of the items I have requested students will work in groups to complete.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from Orlando, Florida and they come from diverse backgrounds. I participate in the Dual-Language program. This is when students learn math and language arts in English and science, social studies, and spanish language arts in Spanish. I teach the English side of the program. I want to facilitate the students at my school by making the comfortable when they’re learning. There is a high population of English language learners in my school. The language barrier can be intimidating so I would like to ease that stress as much as possible. The school is zoned for a low income population. All students at this elementary school qualify for free lunch. I want to see my students faces light up on the first day of school and be ready to learn daily!
My Project
My classes are in a magnet program called dual language. They learn ELA and math in English. When they switch classes they learn SLA (spanish language arts), social studies, and science in Spanish. I want my students to be highly proficient in both languages. This program promotes biliteracy, bicultralality, and bilingualism. It is important to maximize the effectiveness of each center, or workshop we do daily. This is why it is so important to keep students reading!
In the dual language program, students learn in two languages daily.
This is why I am asking for these amazing resources! After I teach my lesson, students breakout into workshops. I meet with every student in specific groups to make sure they are mastering their new skill. While I am working with a group of five my other students work in groups to complete other activities.
All of the items I have asked for will support my students during workshops. Workshops have been research based best practices to improve student achievement. The ones I have chosen coincide with second grade standards. They will also build upon the foundation students built in previous years and enrich student minds. Not only are they very effective, but students enjoy doing them because they are all hands on.
