My Students

My students are a diverse group of kids living in Brooklyn, NY that strive to succeed. They speak many different languages and come from various cultures and countries, some even new to the country just learning the language.

This year I will be teaching in an Integrated learning classroom, which means there will be two teachers and half the class will be special education students and the other half are general education students.

We will also have many students that are new to the country and just learning English. They all come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, but most come from low income households.

My students range in all levels of learning. My school is a wonderful community of different learners that all work together to do their best. My students are always eager to come to school and learn new things, even in this new world of education. Keeping them safe and educated is my biggest concern.

My Project

I am requesting writing folders, pencils, felt tip pens, filler paper, erasers and more which will provide us a fully stocked and organized writing center to encourage and promote more writing in our class. These writing folders will help our students keep their writing organized, while the brightly colored paper will make their published pieces of writing pop off the page.

We want our students to value and love writing, these amazing supplies will really help to engage and make them excited about writing.

Our students always seem to need pencils and erasers to perfect their drafting, and bright colored pens help their published writing look professional.

We want our students to love writing, and making it fun, using fun tools will help us to achieve that.
