I am excited to do some writing with my kindergarteners. We are going to be doing this work outside in our school's outdoor classroom. We will be sketching and using the beautiful outdoors as our backdrop.
By the end of the year, we aim to craft splendidly illustrated books from our outdoor ventures.
I'm looking to supply our outdoor writing adventures. We'll need sturdy tarps to create comfortable workspaces and a variety of pencils, crayons, and drawing paper for sketching outside in nature's inspiration.
Inside the classroom, my students are excited to explore as they learn about butterflies, ladybugs, and praying mantises. We are learning about their life cycles as we complete our writing about what things are necessary to keep a living being alive. We are caring for animals that will later be released into our outdoor classroom and garden.
Taking care of these creatures is part of our adventure; soon, they'll be released into our outdoor space and garden. The kids are also excited to plant seeds and bulbs and watch them grow. We'll then move the plants into our garden plot. As we explore, we'll write about our discoveries in beautifully illustrated books to share with others.
