Wonderful Wipeable Whiteboards

My Students

I teach at a very dynamic elementary school in a very diverse area. Many of our students are ELL students and have newly immigrated to the United States.

Our school is a warm, nurturing place where students love to come each day to work together and learn from one another.

The children bring out the best in one another. Our goal is to develop the mind and character of each unique child so that they are the best version of themselves.

My Project

Second graders go through a lot of chart paper. Interactive and shared writing, poems, phonics principles, writer's workshop mini-lessons, spelling, and math all use crazy amount of chart paper. Two white boards would solve this problem and eliminate the need for us to use ridiculous amounts of paper. We could "chart out" only the true things that need to be used as references throughout the year and use the whiteboards for reference charts needed throughout the week. Since they are two-sided the other side can be used for daily lessons.

A new dry erase board will assist greatly with daily and weekly learning.

Second graders become more independent when they have reference charts and it helps them become an active part of the process of learning. This board will replace the 40+ pads of chart paper I go through a year! The whiteboards I have requested will help me save money from purchasing paper and be more earth friendly!

We really can't wait for this project to become a reality! Thank you in advance!
