Wobbling While We Read!

My students need wobble chairs to help them stay focused and engaged while learning to read.

My Students

My students come to my small group lessons with little background about the world around them. My goal is to engage them in a variety of text and help each student learn strategies to read and comprehend. I want my students to love reading.

As a Title I Teacher, I work with the struggling readers in third, fourth and fifth grade.

I work with English Language Learners, students with disabilities, students with ADHD or ADD, and general education students. My time with them each day is very valuable and it is important I use every minute for quality instruction.

My Project

Most of the students who I see for reading intervention have difficulties maintaining focus. Wobble Chairs are proven to help maintain students' attention while giving a calming effect . These chairs will allow my students to move, so their brain can concentrate on the task at hand. When students are not engaged or not focused, they miss out on important parts of the lesson.

Wobble Chairs will help increase student engagement and give them an opportunity for success.

My goal is for each of my students to develop a love for reading and I believe this project will help meet that goal.
