My students need these wobble chairs because 6 and 7 year olds are constantly moving and these chairs will help them be productive / engaged , while allowing them to move!
I have a lively bunch of first graders who love learning and being involved with our classroom community. My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. However, our first grade classroom is set up with desks and chairs that are older than I am and it isn't the most inviting place to enjoy their learning time. Please consider helping my students grow and thrive in first grade!
My Project
Wobble chairs have proven effective in increasing student attention, time on task, and overall learning. Our first grade friends are being asked to sit for increasing amounts of time as the curriculum becomes more complex. Students need the freedom to choose their seating that is the best match for their learning style. Our first graders are eager and active and are, developmentally, not supposed to sit for long periods of time. Alternate seating such as these active learning stools provide the opportunity to wiggle, bounce or sway while they are focused on their learning. Our classroom promotes self-confidence and welcomes a variety of learning styles. We realize that "Everyone gets what they need." The hope is with increased options for seating, students will be able to move about while they are engaged in their education.
