My Students

I teach in a rural, Title I school in southeast Oklahoma. We are a first through third grade school. I teach second grade. We have a high poverty rate and very diverse ethnic backgrounds. We have many Native American students due to the fact that Oklahoma is home to nine Native American tribes.

My Project

My students spend the majority of their day in school trying to focus and learn. This can be difficult for most students when they are sitting for long periods of time. My students need wobble stools to sit at the teacher table during interventions, reading groups, and math groups. Wobble stools let students wobble while still staying focused. During whole group instruction students who show the need for the use of the stools will be able to utilize them, as well! The ottomans will be an alternative option while they are reading independently. All day they sit in hard chairs and or on the floor, and these wobble stools and ottomans will help them have a change of pace and seating arrangements. Please help me ensure that my students stay focused
