My Students

Oh, my precious students. My group of seven and eight year olds are a joyful bunch of children. They are kind and caring students who work very hard at school.

My students are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners.

My classroom is filled with the beautiful faces of diverse learners. They come from a variety of economic and cultural backgrounds with a high percentage of students receiving free and reduced-price lunches.

My students are filled with a love for learning. They really like to move around and have so much energy. I want my students to feel comfortable and fully engaged in their learning environment. I want them to have multiple work spaces to keep their bodies and brains active.

My Project

I have researched and experimented with a variety of types of flexible seating. After seeing the many health and academic benefits of students using different kids of seating, I have allowed my students to have more choice in where they sit throughout the day. I would like to expand the flexible seating options in my classroom to include eight wobble cushions and eight Kore wobble stools.

Evolving the classroom space to meet students’ individual needs impacts how they learn, how they interact, and the entire classroom experience.

Flexible classrooms give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them. Flexible classrooms help children to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking. This project will help to insure that my students have the type of seating that allows all learners to be their best learning self.
