I teach 4th grade, ( 9 and 10 year olds) My students are fun-loving, eager to learn kids. They are full of energy and excitement. We are all from a small town in rural Iowa. Each year my students come from all types of demographics, most of them from lower income families and free and reduced lunches.
All of my students have their own unique needs and styles for learning.
I have a diverse learning spectrum each year. (From special education needs, at risk students, and talented and gifted.) For many, school is the best part of the day! I love having a safe, but fun and inviting classroom for them to come to each day and call home for the next year.
My Project
I would like to have a few wobble chairs and ball chairs in my classroom for my fourth grade students who have the wiggles. These wobble chairs allow the students to wiggle and wobble while they work, engaging their muscles and helping them to release energy. This stimulating exercise helps the students to minimize distractions, improve focus, and engage in the learning happening in the classroom.
These wobble chairs will be used during small group centers.
All students will get to test these chairs out. We have a few in class already and they are a big hit. Learning and wobbling go hand in hand together. These wobble chairs will enhance our classroom environment, creating a healthy and supportive space for all students to learn and grow.
