My students are all struggling readers. Kids are not made to sit all day long in desks. These seats allow students to focus and still get the movement their bodies need. When struggling with a task like reading, being excited about a space change and not having to sit in a desk can make all the difference in the mindset of a student coming to learn to read. Being the teacher with a "fun chair" means they might be excited to come to reading group! This sounds small but I promise it is not. We have to bring joy back to school. Fun seats make the space inviting and meet students where they are developmentally at. There is a lot of research around incorporating movement into learning and how movement can help trigger the brain to retain information. These seats are one part of that. Often many of my students have ADHD or other learning disabilities that result in their difficulty learning to read. Their bodies need additional movement and strategies to learn to read. That is what we do in our reading groups. Please help me buy this learning tool for my students. It will make such a difference in their ability retain information and their attitude towards learning something that is hard for them. Flexible seating matter in how a student feels about their learning space and I could not afford it without your help. Thank you!
