This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I charter school in California. Mostly made up of English language learners, my class is constantly working on the acquisition of new vocabulary and a better understanding of multiple languages through literature.

My room is full of hilarious, genuine, and vocal second grade​ minds that exhibit a natural curiosity for the ever-evolving world around them.

We are an active bunch who loves to learn through discussion, movement, and projects. All in all, there is simply nothing typical about this inquisitive bunch.

My Project

Please help me give my classroom some much needed seating for those students who have trouble sitting still!

Wobble chairs have proven to improve sensory focus and awareness in children, along with improved test scores and classroom performance.

Active sitting brings movement to the school space with wobbly stools that promote movement while you sit which helps to improve concentration, implement better posture, and boosts energy levels throughout the day.

Active sitting, also known as dynamic sitting, encourages the body to remain in motion rather than in a rigid sitting posture. Since our bodies are meant to be in a perpetual state of motion, seating solutions that require us to engage our core muscles actually promote spinal positioning and muscle stimulation.
