This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten and it’s amazing and rewarding. I love to see the growth in my students, especially in literacy. I have some students come in already reading on level but the majority of the students come in with limited vocabulary, little exposure to books, and no concept of the alphabet. Over the year we make wonderful progress regardless of the circumstances. The students come with very little literacy skills and leave kindergarten with an interest in reading and improved reading skills.

My Project

The wobble chairs will help my students who like to rock back and forth in the chairs. The wobble chairs allow continuous movement while sitting, which relaxes the right side of the brain, leading to better focus. It provides the students with an outlet to move around without distracting other students. The chairs help students that are diagnosed with all forms of ADD, ADHD, and Autism. I have seen students in other classes using the wobble chairs and the chairs do wonders. Even though the project may be simple I believe the wobble chairs will be impactful and help the students immensely.
