We have a range of different students in our classroom. I have 40 kids this year (the max amount aloud) and our room is extremely busy! We have a mixture of economics in this classroom and school. We live in one of the poorest counties in the state. Not all children come to school ready to learn, some need to be fed others need to be held and listened too, while I have others that need to have warm clothes.
What makes my classroom special is that we are all different, we are all coming from a different background but we all come together to learn, play, and make friends and connections that will hopefully last a lifetime.
My room also has children who are differently abled. Some children have behavior difficulties while other are born with down syndrome and autism. We are a unique classroom with lots of different needs. But we care for everyone in anyway they need it.
My Project
An Elmo makes it able for me to project the image of anything onto my smartboard. This comes in helpful when explaining how to do an assignment.
The Elmo will assist in doing a paper or writing letters together.
It is difficult to show so many children how to complete a paper while I hold it and try to write on it. The Elmo would make giving instructions and examples a lot clearer for the children in the classroom. I have seen elmo's in use in other classrooms and they are an absolute time saver.
This device can be used to project anything I place underneath it. I could demonstrate science experiments, we could examine a bug found out on the playground, the use of this will only be limited to our imaginations!
