Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade Spanish bilingual teacher. I am extremely passionate in teaching and helping the community I have grown to love. My first grade students come from immigrant families whose primary language is Spanish. Every day is an exciting day of learning, the moment the bell rings eager to learn as they chant, "I AM my community, my community is me! I LEARN my community, my community learns from me! I HELP my community, MY COMMUNITY HELPS ME!" Our school is considered high-needs and heavy impacted by trauma. I care deeply of my students, I believe and encourage them in their abilities to achieve great things.

My Project

Our school has a limited school budget. We don't always have access to comfortable seating for our Readers’ or Writers’Workshop. We are requesting 4 bean bags and 5 stools so that our students have a comfortable spot to read during guided reading, when they are learning new reading strategies.

These bean bags and stools can make our guided reading groups a lot more exciting for our students when they read!
