My classroom is an inclusion class of 20 students. My students are diverse in needs and ability. I feel strongly about meeting the needs of all children where they are at in their development. Kindergarten is an age where children come with all different prior experiences and abilities.
Our district takes pride in our special education services as well as our ability to differentiate for all students.
I am a reflective teacher and enjoy learning and researching ways to reach all students. I have a growth mindset and feel I project this on my students. They are curious, active, happy learners.
Technology has become part of the everyday classroom. I feel wireless headphones will help make the technology tools efficient and meaningful. Some ways we use iPads in our class is in small groups for reading listening and responding to stories, math games, and research on projects. With the use of wireless headphones we will be able to use the iPads efficiently and without disturbing others. The wired headphones we currently use often become tangled don’t connect properly and break . We have to take time out of learning to fix problems with wires or we are constantly asking children to turn down the sound. The wireless headphones will allow more time on learning and less frustration for all.
