My students need a wireless color printer and toner cartridges so that they will be able to print out their creative computer projects that are completed in the wireless lab.
Help my students creative work to shine! This will encourage them to want to learn!
I currently teach Computer Literacy to 6th, 7th and 8th graders in a Title 1 Public School wireless lab.
In total, I teach close to 250 students weekly. It means a lot to me to encourage my students to want to learn. Computers are an essential part of their everyday lives. The problem that we are facing is that we do not have sufficient supplies in the wireless lab. We are lacking a wireless color printer for the lab.
My Project
A color printer will help my students creative work shine! Students would be able to print out their work as they see it on the laptop. As of now, we only have a black and white printer, which sets us back when we want to show our creative sides. The color printer will allow the students to gain a sense of accomplishment seeing their final project in a new light. It will also allow me, the teacher, to print out their work and display it in the hallways and on classroom bulletin boards. In the near future, I would like to introduce certain projects to the students, such as: creating a business card, a travel brochure and a holiday card. The projects would feel much more alive with colored ink!
My project is important, because it will give the students a great sense of accomplishment.
The students will look forward to computer class and the end result of their projects. Computers will forever be a part of their lives, so why not have good experiences starting now.
