This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I'm blessed to work with some of the most amazing student on the planet. Who come to school eager to learn everyday. We are very community oriented at my school and we not only nurture the students at school but the community as well.

Our students live in diverse areas with the majority of our students living in low income areas.

Because majority of these students living in low-income areas these students go without a lot things that would help them to learn better. A well fed and warm student will learn better.I was even more amazed to realize that my students needs were so great within my school.

My Project

A lot of my student do not drink enough water during the day and hydration makes the brain work better. Student that are well fed, hydrated and clean do better in school.

Hunger is an issue that affects a lot of my students, since my "Winter Wonderland" project started students come to the clinic everyday for a snack, change of clothing and hygiene items.

Being able to provide some of the essentials that my low-income student's family are unable to has improved a lot of my students overall day at school and I feel that what is important for them.
