The students in my class come from a small community in Hawaii. They come from diverse backgrounds with mixed ethnicities. Our school prioritizes having a growth mindset and being bucket fillers. They believe in creating well-rounded individuals that are caring with problem-solving skills. My students are very bright, innovative, and creative. I believe in teaching well-rounded students attending to their academic, SEL (Social, Emotional, Learning), and creative needs.
I'm always looking for opportunities to stretch and extend their learning in innovative and creative ways.
My students want so much to be successful and I want to give them the tools to meet their goals.
My Project
My students live in beautiful sunny Hawaii where it has sunshine year round. Unfortunately, for most of my students, they have never gotten to experience snow. The snow machine and refill liquid I requested will provide a once in a lifetime experience for my students. They can see what living in a Winter Wonderland can feel like. We will also be using this experience to compare and contrast the seasonal differences and experiences of having snow versus living in sunny Hawaii year long, especially during the holiday season.
By donating you can help give my students an experience to last a lifetime with snow in Hawaii.
This experience will teach to the whole child and provide a healthy and fun SEL (Social, Emotional, Learning) experience. With COVID, it’s hard to find a fun, safe, and memorable experience for students. This will help to give them a warm, once-in-a- lifetime experience, to forget their troubles and enjoy and be in the moment. It will also engage them in the learning process to better learn about comparing and contrasting seasonal and holiday differences of a Winter Wonderland with snow.
